ITP Records is proud to release the rare, 1974, Jim Backus Comedy Classics CD. Not only were these vignettes hard to find when they were originally pressed to wax, but they have never before been released on glass!! In fact, these recorded gems have, for the most part, been lost with the passage of time. Surprisingly, if you research Jim Backus you won't find any album's of him performing comedy! Afterall, it wasn't easy to get 'Mr. Jim Backus Magoo Howell' into a recording studio away from his busy schedule. And the credit rightfully goes to Lew Bedell, the founder of Dore Records who convinced Jim to record this album almost 30 years ago!!

Jim Backus was one of the few actors to do it all; radio, Broadway, movies, television and cartoons. One of the truly great and most memorable of all character actors, he was known to some as the father of James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause", to others as Judge Bradley Stevens on "I Married Joan", to yet others as the voice of the very nearsighted 'Mr. Magoo' and to others as the millionaire 'Thurston Howell III' on TV's " Gilligan's Island.

If you are a Jim Backus Fan... This Very Funny album, which is available for the first time ever on CD is a must own!!
